City of Kelowna hosts four free events over the long weekend

Weekend of free family fun

The City of Kelowna is offering several free events this Family Day long weekend. 

Family Active Night on Feb. 14 will allow residents to enjoy free floor hockey and games at the Rutland Activity Centre, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Free Family Skating takes place Feb. 15 at the Rutland Arena from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., with activities for all. Family Glow Night is also taking place on Feb. 15 at the Parkinson Recreation Centre, with a family dance night and guest DJ from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear white or neon.

Lastly, Family Day Fun is being hosted on Feb. 17 at the Capital News Centre with free skating, sports demos, soccer, inflatables and more, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Donations will also be accepted to benefit Jumpstart.

The City of Kelowna is also reminding the public that city hall will be closed on Feb. 17.

The Parkinson Recreation Centre is open on Family Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Glenmore Landfill is open with regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Kelowna's Memorial Park Cemetery office will be closed on Monday however, the gates will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
