Kelowna RCMP seize drugs, weapons in Rutland bust

Drugs, weapons seized

A 49-year-old Kelowna man faces multiple charges after police seized illicit drugs, firearms and weapons during a raid in Rutland last week.

Officers executed a search warrant on the 600 block of Gerstmar Road on Jan. 28.

“During their search of the home, police seized quantities of suspected crystal methamphetamine, as well as firearms and a variety of weapons,” says Const. Solana Paré.

The warrant was related to an active criminal investigation into drug trafficking in the Rutland area.

The BC Prosecution Service approved 10 charges against Clayton Wade Zeleniski, including:

  • One count of breach of release order
  • Five counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
  • One count of possession of a firearm without licence and/or registration
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to order
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance

Zeleniski remains in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
