Violent robbery on McCurdy

Kelowna RCMP needs your help to track down a suspect after a young woman was robbed Saturday night on McCurdy Rd.

The incident happened at 10:30 p.m. on January 25th, when a female pedestrian, walking in the 700 block of McCurdy Rd., says she was pushed down and robbed.
   
The victim says she was knocked to the ground by a passing man and that when she fell her wallet also fell on the ground. The suspect demanded the victim give him her wallet but once he spotted it on the ground, he grabbed it and then fled down Franklyn Road.

“The Kelowna RCMP was relieved to hear the victim was not seriously injured during this violent encounter.” States Cst. Lesley Smith Kelowna RCMP “However, our Kelowna frontline officers will continue to investigate this robbery and are canvassing the neighbourhood and local businesses for any video surveillance they might have, in hopes of identifying the suspect responsible.”  

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 40’s wearing all black clothing.

Kelowna RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed a suspicious male in that area on Saturday night, to please contact the Kelowna RCMP at (250) 762-3300.
