Kelowna RCMP find evidence linking group to multiple crimes

Three arrests in crime spree

Three people are facing criminal charges after arrests in relation to numerous property crime offences in Kelowna, including stolen vehicles from local car dealerships.

Two males and one female were arrested Jan. 4 after police were called over a fraudulently obtained hotel room.

When officers arrived, they spotted evidence related to numerous crimes committed throughout the city.

A search warrant was executed, and RCMP seized items related to at least eight break-ins as well as evidence related to identity theft.

Police also recovered two stolen vehicles, valued at approximately $60,000, which were stolen from a local dealership.

The woman, 25, and the two men, 25 and 33, are facing multiple charges, including: possession of stolen property over $5,000, fraud, and identity fraud.

On Jan. 10, RCMP a second search warrant was issued for new offences, and officers were able to recover even more stolen property. Evidence suggested the group was involved in identity theft across the Okanagan.

The female and one of the males are in custody waiting for a court disposition on additional charges and for an extradition back to Alberta.
