Drag queen fundraiser for KGH returns on Jan. 25

A night of Noir returns

This fundraiser is a real drag ... no, really.

The third annual pop-up drag fundraiser Noir returns to Kelowna Jan. 25, with proceeds benefiting the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.

Drag queens at this year's event include: Lady Bunny, Roxxxy Andrews, Kimora Blac, Jade Jolie, and Crystal – all from the popular television series RuPaul's Drag Race.

"It's a very sexual, very fun, safe evening for everybody just to be who they are, with no judgments and no stereotypes," says event co-producer Nate Flavel.

This year's event is the biggest yet, with features including wearable art, installations, entertainers, go-go dancers and performances from all five drag queens.

Noir is inclusive to all, not just the LGBTQ community. "Every year, I say: This is the biggest, coolest gay party for straight people," says Flavel.

Funds raised at this year's event will benefit KGH's interventional stroke program.

Guests are to follow a black-only dress code, and the location will only be revealed to ticket holders the morning of the event.

Tickets are available here. VIP ticket holders get access to a VIP lounge, pre-show meet and greet, catered reception, photo opportunities with the queens and two welcome drinks.
