Log booms being towed to closed Tolko mill for redistribution

You may notice some activity around the log booms near Bear Creek Park on the Westside and next to the Tolko mill in Kelowna.

Officials with the company say they are cleaning up the log booms and towing the logs to the now idle Kelowna mill.

The logs will be stored at the mill to dry before being trucked to another mill for processing.

It's not clear yet where the final destination will be for the logs.

The removal of the logs is part of the cleanup the company will undertake after announcing last month the Kelowna mill would permanently shut down early in January.
