Grab your tickets for the Christmas ballet classic in Kelowna

Return of The Nutcracker

Experience the best of the Christmas season this December with the holiday classic The Nutcracker, brought to you by The Canadian School of Ballet.

This season marks the 30 year anniversary of the show, says director Regeanna Stubel.

"We’re very excited to be a part of 30 years of the tradition in Kelowna... there's a lot of work put into this show. From the second week of September, we start with rehearsals and from every weekend in from September we practice Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We have a lot of dedicated teachers and choreographers that put their time into this to make it happen, and we couldn't do it without the parents."

The group promises to put on a show, and capture the imagination of the entire family in the unforgettable tale of Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Kelowna locals Alexis Desautels and Jade Williams, who are alternating the position of 'Clara', says having the opportunity to feature in such a classic is an experience.

"I started dancing when I was three," says Williams. "In this show I love being able to dance with dancer I don't usually dance with... getting to dance with the young ones, or getting the opportunity to dance with Ballet Kelowna. It's a really great experience being able to intermingle with everyone."

The show runs Dec. 13-15 for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. sessions. For tickets, click here
