Kelowna RCMP have a person in custody this evening after they scrambled to the Bennett Bridge on Okanagan Lake for reports of a jumper.
Several RCMP cruisers were seen rushing to the Westside before 5 p.m.
Police searched both ends of the bridge after reports of a person in the water.
Details are few so far, but its believed the jumper was taken into custody on the City Park side of the lake, in Kelowna.
A heavy police presence was in the bridge area for more than an hour.
The fire department marine rescue unit was called off after the person was taken into custody.
The temperature of the lake is a chilly 7 C this evening, with an air temperature of -3 C.
