Students, staff and guests gathered at the UBC Okanagan courtyard Thursday to honour Remembrance Day.
Capt. Joshua Trowsse-Freeman with the B.C. Dragoons, who was also once a student at UBC, was pleased to see the turnout of students paying their respects.
"I remember when the ceremony started, when I was a student, and it was only about 10 of us in this courtyard. Today, you can see it's grown massively," he said.
"It's always a very heartwarming feeling that people take the time, especially as students."
The service was followed by two minutes of silence, the laying of wreaths, and a reading of In Flanders Fields.
