Eight months after the closure of Level Nightclub, a new club will open in its place this week.
Gotham Nightclub opens its doors Friday night following “lengthy renovations” that the new owners say include a revised layout and updated sound system.
“We wanted to transform the venue and bring it up to modern standards. It was capital intensive, but we’re very, very happy with the finished product and are excited to open it up to the city,” said Eddy Racano.
Eddy and Tony Racano, owners of the nearby Sapphire Nightclub, purchased Level around the time of its closure.
The new owners plan on bringing back a refreshed College Thursday.
“We’re working on getting the staffing, logistics and branding right and are confident the venue will be well-regarded,” said Eddy Racano.
Opening night, on Oct. 25 will be a Halloween-themed Fruitcake event for the LGBT+ community. Saturday night will feature the "Gotham Carnivale."
The first college Thursday is scheduled for Oct. 31.
