Halloween Dog Walk takes place Oct. 27 in Kelowna

Dogs join in Halloween fun

There's something on offer for everyone this Halloween, including your beloved canine pets.

Kelowna Secondary School's Global Awareness Club will host a community Halloween Dog Walk on Sunday Oct. 27, rain or shine.

The event is open to the public, with admission by donation for the dog costume contest and dog treats raffle.

Club vice-president Hannah Robertson says the fundraiser is in honour of Kelowna-based charity Paws it Forward, which rescues and rehabilitates dogs that have been surrendered, abused, neglected or abandoned.

Proceeds from the event will go towards vet bills and additional necessities such as dog food, toys, crates and leashes.

The Halloween Dog Walk begins at 3 p.m. at the Mission Recreation Park behind the H20 Centre.
