Zoe Welch is an 18-year-old Kelowna based singer-songwriter who is celebrating the release of her first EP, called As Promised.
The EP includes four songs that she wrote at the young age of 16.
"I'm just really happy that I could do that when I was as young as I was and that I'm able to connect with people that are all ages," said Welch.
The songs on the EP include Flatlined, Turn on the Lights, Best and Unrequited Love, which were all written as a result of heartbreak.
"I was super heartbroken and the only thing that could help me feel better was writing music," said Welch.
Welch prefers not to categorize herself as a single type of artist but says her music is considered as R&B, soul and alternative.
"Just being able to express my emotions through song was amazing."
