A car was found under water in a pond on Glenmore and Hilltown

Car submerged in pond

UPDATE 5:00 p.m.

Castanet received an update from the family of the vehicle, who stated:

"A deer ran in front of it while driving and the vehicle went off the road into the pond swerving to miss it. Single occupant and they were taken to hospital with crash-related injuries. The RCMP on the scene said they would deal with getting it towed to Mario's. Something must have prevented the tow truck from getting it out."

ORIGINAL 2:45 p.m.

A morning commute surprise for residents of Glenmore, as a car was seen underwater.

It's unclear how a red van was found submerged in a pond located across the Glenmore Rd. and Hilltown Dr. intersection on Wednesday morning.

No word on how long the vehicle has been in the water. The driver's door was propped open and the airbag was also found inflated.
