Public parks to close washrooms and water fountains in Kelowna

Parks winding down for fall

With fall in full-swing, all public park washrooms and water fountains will be closed starting next Tuesday.

Closures also include water services at off-leash dog parks.

The City of Kelowna does this in an effort to prevent pipes from freezing during the colder months.

Washrooms that will remain open year-round include those at Stuart Park, City Park and Gerstmar Park.

In addition to these closures, parks staff will be winterizing park irrigation systems to protect the systems while ensuring no water will freeze or expand in the irrigation lines.

All closed washrooms and water fountains will be open in early April.
