A former Mount Boucherie high school teacher pleaded guilty to seven more charges Monday, after pleading guilty to sexual exploitation of a young person back in March.
Bradley Furman had been under house arrest since his arrest last October, but following his guilty pleas to sexual exploitation, attempting to pervert justice, and three counts of breaching his bail conditions, he was arrested in late July and charged again with attempting to obstruct justice, in June 2019, along with 11 new breach charges between July 2018 and April 2019.
The new charges relate to Furman telling a complainant to destroy evidence, while also contacting a complainant he was prohibited from communicating with on multiple occasions.
On Monday, Furman pleaded guilty to the obstruction charge and six of the new breach charges.
While he was originally scheduled to be sentenced on the three original convictions this week, that sentencing has been pushed back to December, when he'll be sentenced on all 10 convictions.
The sexual exploitation conviction on its own, defined as sexual contact with a young person when the older person is in a position of trust, carries a minimum sentence of one year.
Following Monday's pleas, the Crown asked for an updated presentence report with a psychological component.
An order was also made Monday to prohibit his contact with two complainants in the case. He remains in custody while he awaits sentencing.
Furman was a teacher at Mount Boucherie Secondary until May 2018.
