Candidates set for election

The federal election campaign is officially underway, and candidates across the Okanagan are gearing up for the Oct. 21 vote.

The Okanagan is made up of four federal ridings, which include: North Okanagan-Shuswap, Kelowna-Lake Country, Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola, and South Okanagan-West Kootenay.

The following is a list of the candidates in the four local ridings. Incumbent candidates are noted with an asterisk.

North Okanagan – Shuswap

  • Cindy Derkaz – Liberal

  • Harwinder Sandhu – NDP
  • Marc Reinarz – Green
  • Kyle Delfing – PPC

Kelowna – Lake Country

  • Stephen Fuhr* – Liberal

  • Darrin Fidler – Marijuana

Central Okanagan – Similkameen – Nicola

  • Mary Ann Murphy – Liberal

The next Kelowna candidates forum is scheduled for Sept. 19 at the Kelowna Senior Citizen's Society hall near Richter Street and Fuller Avenue. It will be hosted by the Canadian Federation of University Women.
