Pizza & beer for a cause

If you're looking for something to do tonight in Kelowna and want to help out a good cause, check out the fundraiser at DunnEnzies Lakeshore location.

The well known local eatery is hosting a  community fundraiser dinner and concert, with proceeds going towards Easter Seals Camp Winfield.

“These kids often have to face life with others only seeing their disabilities, but camp helps them realize they aren’t defined by their disability, and they instead focus on empowerment and the challenges they can overcome with the support of counselors and fellow campers,” says James Gagnon, Director of Camp and Facilities at Easter Seals.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. and features Kentucky Eileen, a new local folk and bluegrass band from Kelowna. The evening also includes beer specials from Steam Whistle Brewing, oyster shucking by Shucked Oyster Co., games, 50/50 and delicious pizza and tacos from DunnEnzies.

Easter Seals BC/Yukon has been running summer camps for children and young adults with disabilities at Camp Winfield in Lake Country for more than fifty years. “It costs $3600 to send a child to camp for a week, so dollars raised from fundraising will help offset these costs to send kids with diverse abilities to Easter Seals Camp Winfield giving them a week-long life-changing experience each summer,” says Gagnon.
