Walls rise at The Vaults

A lot of concrete has been lifted at a unique luxury storage facility near the Kelowna International Airport this week.

The Vaults is a 19-unit storage facility for those looking to downsize to a condo, but still need a place to store large items like RVs, cars and boats. In addition, the units feature customizable living areas.

This week, over 80 million pounds of concrete were lifted as the walls were put in place at the development.

As the facility begins to take shape, many who have already purchased units were at the location in the Kelowna Airport Business Park Thursday to take in the wall raising.

“All of a sudden we have 3-D, where someone can stand in it, and see exactly what they want to do with a wall here, what they want to store over in this spot here,” said James Murray, vice president of The Vaults. “It makes it come to life for us.”

The company's flagship development is a 46-unit facility in Calgary.

About half of the Kelowna facility's 19 units have been sold, and the remaining ones range in price from $409,900 to $1.1 million.
