Cyclist hit, driver flees

A cyclist was struck by a vehicle on Bernard Avenue last week.

A cyclist was hit by a vehicle last week on Bernard Avenue, and police are still searching for the driver.

Just before 6 p.m. last Wednesday, a cyclist travelling east on the 1300 block of Bernard Avenue was allegedly hit by a driver who had used a driveway to pull a U-turn.

The victim required medical treatment for injuries.

The suspect, driving a 2006 or 2007 red Ford Mustang convertible, left the scene, travelling west along Bernard Avenue and turning on Richmond Street.

Police are looking for anyone who witnessed the crash, or the driver involved, to come forward by calling 250-762-3300.
