Assault suspect sought

Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly assaulted a person in Kelowna.

A victim was found suffering non-life-threatening injuries about 12:30 a.m. Monday, on the 1700 block of Chapman Place.

The suspect, who police say is well known to the victim, fled in a vehicle.

Joel McKinnon Perks, 32, of West Kelowna, has been formally charged in relation to the altercation. He is wanted for assault and breach of bail conditions.

Police describe him as Caucasian, about six-foot-two, 200 pounds, with tattoos on both arms, brown hair and blue eyes.

“RCMP warn the general public not to approach Joel Perks. If spotted, call 911 immediately,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at 250-765-3300.
