Robbery suspect nabbed

A Kelowna man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at the Garden of Eden one year ago

Brandon David Tchir, 33, was taken into custody Wednesday on Hein Road in Kelowna.

Tchir is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, disguising his face with intent to commit an indictable offence, and using an imitation firearm while committing an indictable offence.

Security camera footage from Castanet's building captured two men involved in the brazen daytime robbery.

The masked suspects were seen strolling down Lawrence Avenue with concealed objects in their arms. Bystanders walked right beside the suspects, who just moments before fired a gun inside the escort agency.

The two suspects demanded an employee open the safe and hand over watches and jewelry.

“Our investigation is not over yet,” says RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“Kelowna RCMP GIS Robbery investigators are continuing their efforts to identify the second masked suspect, and a potential third accomplice who actively participated in the robbery, and bring them each to justice.”

The second male suspect was described to police as standing over six feet tall, and wore a black mask, black hat, black jacket, a grey T-shirt and a pair of grey pants during the robbery.
