Pee break fall from cliff

UPDATE: 5:45 p.m.

A 28-year-old man was trying to pee off Dilworth Mountain when he fell 60 feet off a cliff and severely injured his legs.

A helicopter was called to transport him, but due to his pain and how long it would take, first responders removed him and transported him on a Gator ATV.


UPDATE: 5 p.m.

The patient has been pulled out on an ATV and brought to a waiting ambulance. 


UPDATE: 4:20 p.m.

A helicopter has been called in to assist with the rescue of a bike rider injured after falling from the Okanagan Rail Trail.


ORIGINAL: 4 p.m.

Emergency crews have been called out to rescue an injured bike rider in Kelowna.

The rider was apparently riding his BMX bike along the Okanagan Rail Trail at the east end of Dilworth Mountain when he missed a curve, and fell approximately 60 feet down an embankment.

Crews with the Kelowna Fire Department have called in a rope rescue team.

The rider is apparently conscious.

He has apparently suffered two broken legs.
