Dog lurer scared off

A Glenrosa family is living in fear after a stranger crept up to their backyard and tried to lure their dog over.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday when the dog’s owner started hearing his dog bark aggressively.

“I ran to the back and saw this woman standing at the back at my fence,” he said. “You have to climb a steep hill to get there so it’s a lot of work for them to get there.”

One woman, who had long, dark-coloured hair, was up at his fence and another woman, with short, dark hair, was standing down by their van parked on Glenway Road.

“I yelled at her and she ran down to her vehicle and I grabbed my phone to take a picture and they drove away,” he recalls.

He hopes they weren't trying to steal his dog, but were just coming to say hello.

“I’m really paranoid about it right now,” he said.

A photo of the vehicle was posted on the Facebook group Glenrosa Community Shop, & Talk! and has been shared over 600 times by residents. The family also said they’d be speaking with police about the strange incident.
