YLW emergency avoided

Emergency crews at YLW were ready for a small aircraft with three people onboard that ran into engine problems Wednesday morning.

An incoming 370 Cessna landed without incident and emergency crews including four fire trucks from the Kelowna Fire Department have been released from the scene.

YLW spokesperson, Jessica Hewitt tells Castanet, "at approximately 10:23 a.m., a privately registered Cessna, advised the air traffic control tower of a mechanical issue."

YLW immediately dispatched their emergency response team as a precaution.

"The aircraft with three people on board landed safely at approximately 10:42 a.m. There was no disruption to scheduled flight service at YLW," according to Hewitt.
