Hadfield touches down

Arguably one of Canada's most famous aviation families the Hadfields are as much in tune with music as flying.

Dave Hadfield is out with his latest album called "Climbin Away" his fourth album inspired by a 40-year career operating over 100 different types of aircraft. Two of the songs were contributed by his brother, Chris Hadfield, astronaut and past commander of the International space station, whose rendition of "Space Oddity" performed on ISS went viral in 2013. The pair performed together ahead of Canada day 2014 with a song called "In Canada," which was viewed more than a million times in just three days.

"I would describe my style as part Celtic, part folk, quite acoustic, and suits the stories I tell," said Dave Hadfield. "We have six pilots in the family who have flown everything from ultra-lights to space ships, and we all love music. It provides balance."

The Kelowna Flying club is presenting the concert Thursday, March 21 at the Rotary Centre for the Arts.

"With well over 100,000 hours of flight time around the dinner table, there was lots of good material for songwriting."

Tickets are available through the Rotary Centre.
