Bail in alleged kidnapping

Four of the five people arrested last Friday in connection to a February kidnapping and assault have been released on bail.

On Feb. 27, a man was dropped off at Kelowna General Hospital with serious injuries. The man had reportedly gone to a Kelowna home to buy drugs on Feb. 24, but he was assaulted and held against his will for three days.

On the evening of March 1, police arrested five people at multiple locations in Kelowna, in connection to the kidnapping.

Clayton Zeleniski, 48, Dalton Zeleniski, 18, Shane Haines, 32, Timothy Hennessy, 37, and Nicole Sidhu, 24, are all facing various charges, including kidnapping, robbery, unlawful confinement, assault causing bodily harm, and aggravated assault.

On Monday, Hennessy was granted bail, while Sidhu and the two Zeleniskis were released on bail after a hearing Tuesday afternoon.

Haines has a bail hearing scheduled for next week.

All of the accused are scheduled to appear back in court at various dates later this month.
