UPDATE: 5 p.m.

The exact cause of death of a young Kelowna mother still hasn’t been confirmed.

A friend of the family said an autopsy report isn’t finished yet.

“She had an infection that spread aggressively. Everything happened very suddenly,” said Natalia Jamkowy.

A Kelowna woman is being remembered as a patient and selfless mother.

Patricia Selzer gave birth to her second child on Jan. 22 and died unexpectedly this past Sunday at Kelowna General Hospital.

She was just 27, says friend Natalia Jamkowy.

“She was the most wonderful, patient, selfless mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend that anyone could ask for,” said Jamkowy.

Selzer leaves behind her husband, Paul, who she has been with for 10 years, and their children. Her newborn, Jack, is healthy.

GoFundMe campaign has been created to help support the family.

“Paul hopes to spend as much time as possible at home raising their children,” said Jamkowy. “Everyone around him is hoping to help reduce the immediate and long-term financial burden of losing his wife.”
