Getting the flu shot?

Madison Erhardt

Interior Heath says this year's strain of the flu is a brutal one.

Influenza is described as a serious respiratory illness that easily spreads from person to person, and people of any age are at risk.

Across the region, flu activity continues to increase. The dominant strain circulating this year is influenza A H1NI, which predominantly affects children and non-elderly adults. The strain is included in this year’s vaccine.

“The flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from influenza and influenza-related complications,” said Dr. Silvina Mema.

Castanet hit the streets asking the question: ''Are you getting the flu shot?''
