Snow could fall Friday

Madison Erhardt

Winter is closer than you may think.

"After a really balmy weekend with highs upwards of 13 C, we are now in a cooling trend," says Environment Canada meteorologist Matt MacDonald.

"There is the first chance of valley-bottom snow on Friday. It will probably start off as snow sometime Friday morning and then become mixed with rain in the afternoon. We could see about two to four centimetres fall."

Today should be the warmest day of the week, with a forecast high of 10 C and 70 per cent chance of showers this afternoon.

Tuesday, more rain is in the forecast and a high of 8 C.

Wednesday and Thursday should see sunshine – but highs of just 3 C.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of only 2 C on Friday and a low of zero with more flurries overnight.

The weekend is looking wet.

Saturday should reach a high of 6 C with rain. Overnight, the temperature will drop to -1 C.

Sunday will be cloudy with a high of 5 C.
