Stabbed multiple times

A Kelowna man was stabbed multiple times and left with serious injuries after a fight in downtown Kelowna earlier this month.

Police officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call for a stabbing and a fight between two men in the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue just after 12 a.m. on Oct. 10.

After stabbing the man, the suspect fled on foot. Police could not track him down.

Paramedics rushed the 33-year-old man to hospital and he sustained serious, non-life threatening injures.

Police are now turning to the public for help in identifying witnesses at the scene. They have only just released information about the stabbing, almost two weeks after it occurred.

“The investigation, currently being led by the General Investigation Section, has been progressing well as police have since identified and spoken to several witnesses,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP.

“Our investigators are now looking to speak with additional witnesses, who have not yet been identified by police. The unknown male and two unknown females were spotted on video surveillance CCTV cameras in the area.”

Police have released images of the witnesses, hoping they will come forward and speak with police.

Anyone who witnessed the stabbing can contact Const. Ewan Dewolf at 250-470-6294.
