Smoke 'em if you got 'em?

You'll be seeing a lot more of this in the days and weeks ahead, now that cannabis is legal in Canada.

This photo, snapped Wednesday, shows a man with a large bong and bag of what appears to be cannabis smoking in downtown Kelowna, not far from the iconic Sails.

Other reports indicate the celebratory mood on the first day legalized weed was more low key, in Kelowna at least.

Those wanting to celebrate didn't run wild through the streets, and the smell of cannabis was not prevalent at events like Cirque du Soleil's, Corteo.

One unidentified man was seen vaping in a smoking area outside Prospera Place during the intermission of last night's show. "It's legal now, you know," he responded when asked if he was vaping cannabis.

The celebratory mood that marked the legalization of recreational cannabis lost a bit of its high for some consumers, who found themselves with hefty fines for allegedly violating laws around pot use elsewhere in the country.
