Beer bellies in demand

Beer bellies are in demand.

If you're a man between the ages of 34 and 65 years old and don't get a ton of exercise and perhaps don't know how to prepare healthy meals, University of British Columbia Okanagan are looking for you.

Taylor Kirby is recruiting for the Hat Trick program, named for the three goals represented in the program—physical activity, healthy eating and teamwork—UBC’s HAT TRICK is back for its third period.

HAT TRICK is a free, innovative healthy lifestyle program to help Okanagan men increase physical activity, improve nutritional habits, and enhance their social connectedness.

“This particular program encourages men to make small sustainable changes to help them improve their overall health and well-being."

The next session begins September 20 and the program still needs new recruits.

HAT TRICK is designed for men who fit all of the following criteria:

  • Living in the Okanagan
  • 35 years or older
  • Accumulate less than 150 minutes of physical activity per week
  • Have a pant size greater than 38 inches
  • Have a Body Mass Index over 25 kg/m2

The weekly 90-minute sessions will be led by healthy lifestyle experts from the research team, and will meet once a week for 90 minutes.

For more information or to sign up for this free program, contact Taylor Kirby, 250-807-9907 or [email protected].

HAT TRICK focuses on small and simple lifestyle changes that can have huge benefits for your health. No athletic ability required!

Get fit. Lose weight. Sleep better. Stress less. Live longer. That’s HAT TRICK healthy.
