There’s a new game in town – or rather, a new board game company.
Kelowna game developer Jonathan Thwaites teamed up with Club Penguin creator Lance Priebe to create OOMM Board Games late last year. Last week, the company launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund its first release, called No Escape.
As of Wednesday afternoon, $9,077 of its $10,000 goal had been pledged. Those who contribute will receive perks based on how much they donate.
No Escape is described as “a 2-8 player game where you take turns laying tiles and playing actions to be the first player to make it off the station. This fast-paced, easy-to-learn game plays in about 30 to 60 minutes.
Thwaites came up with the idea for No Escape after playing Houdini, a 40-year-old board game with similar characteristics. Both are about players laying tiles to get off the board or to block opponents.
