Madison Erhardt

A man who collided with a pickup while cycling on Richter Street Tuesday has died.

Just before 1 p.m., the 58-year-old cyclist collided with a Ford F-350 near the intersection of Richter Street and Martin Avenue.

The man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

On Wednesday, RCMP Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said the man had succumbed to his injuries in hospital and the BC Coroners Service is assisting with the investigation.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene of the crash Tuesday and co-operated with police.

Police said after their initial investigation, they believed the cyclist and truck were both travelling southbound when the cyclist swerved into the path of the truck.

The cyclist was not wearing a helmet.
