Show some Myra love

Show some love for Kelowna's Myra Canyon Trestles.

The Myra Canyon Trestle Restoration Society has launched a fundraising bumper sticker drive to help keep the scenic tourist attraction in top shape.

Volunteer members of the non-profit charity help BC Parks staff maintain the 12-kilometre rail trail and its trestles, tunnels and scenic splendor.

The group's annual budget is $30,000, supported by fundraising.

All profits from the Love Myra Canyon stickers will go directly toward keeping the park “spectacular."

"We are hoping to see thousands of autos, bikes and other places with this sticker on them, and also on the front of many shop windows," said spokesman Ray Sobol.

The linear park's dramatic trestle bridges and panoramic views attract 70,000 visitors each year.

The stickers are available at Tourism Kelowna, Myra Canyon Bike Rentals and Cooper Medical Supplies so far, with more locations on the way.
