If you're looking for something slightly off the beaten path this weekend Joe Rich is the place for you.
The Joe Rich Sportsman's Association is officially inviting you to their open house on Sunday, July 15th, no firearms licence required!
One of the organizer's, Matt Wright tells Castanet, "we're just trying to create awareness for people who are maybe a little bit anxious about getting into a firearm sport, this is just to try it out. Families can try it out kids and of course adults, it's just a great way to get exposed to the sport without much commitment."
It's also going to be an action-packed day with a variety of weapons to choose from, including rifles, handguns and semi-automatic firearms as well.
Lunch is being provided by Scouts Canada and the Blackpowder Explorers & Associated Riflemen will be taking people back in time with a display of turn of the century musket gunplay.
"Come without a licence, don't bring any guns, we'll supply that. Basically, you can purchase tickets for shooting," says Wright.
The Joe Rich Sportsman's association has also completed a number of upgrades to the facility including reinforcing the berms for protection.
"This is our first time, so it will be a learning process but we really just want to give people who are interested in learning more about shooting the opportunity to take a test drive before making a committment," says Wright.
All you need to bring is ear protection.
