Butterflies for hospice

Five hundred butterflies will be released during the Central Okanagan Hospice Association's Butterfly Effect event on July 15.

The sixth annual event will take place at Falcon Ridge Farms from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., honouring lost loved ones and raising money for hospice.

"It is such a special day for our community to gather and remember those who have touched our lives and share a symbolic experience unique to us all ... and to watch the release of hundreds of butterflies into nature is so amazing,” says hospice executive director Natasha Girard.

Butterflies can be purchased for release at $35 each or three for $90. Buy them online www.hospicecoha.org or call 250-763-5511.

There will also kids and family activities, food, local artisans, and live entertainment.

Falcon Ridge Farms is located at 579 Rifle Rd. in Kelowna.
