Tour the trestles

The Okanagan Trestles Tour is fast approaching.

The sixth annual one-day ride on July 1 will see more than 600 participants from Western Canada and beyond descend on the historic KVR Rail Trail, which overlooks the valley with sweeping vistas of Kelowna and Okanagan Lake.

There are three distance choices – 80, 40 or 20 kilometres.

The 80 km route starts at Myra Canyon with 18 trestles and two tunnels.

The 40 km route starts at Chute Lake (halfway point of the 80 km ride), and the 20 km route starts at Glen Fir (above Naramata), with all events finishing in Penticton.

The ride, being on a decommissioned rail line, offers easy pedalling and only slight grades.
