Wild police chase, arrest

Kelowna RCMP chased down a wanted man in a wild foot pursuit Thursday morning.

About 8:45 a.m., police were alerted to a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant inside a home on Gerstmar Road. Police arrived, but could not immediately locate him.  

While waiting nearby, officers saw their man running from an adjacent residence.  

A foot pursuit led them through a construction site and down several streets before the man jumped into an unoccupied truck that was left running.  

The fugitive turned onto Hein Road, where he collided with an unmarked police vehicle, causing the truck to flip onto its roof.  

The driver was uninjured and was immediately arrested.
