ORIGINAL: 4:40 p.m.

A small mudslide is affecting traffic in East Kelowna.

Kelowna RCMP are directing traffic on the 2700 block of KLO Road, where city crews are working to clear rocks and earth that slumped down onto the road just before 3:30 p.m.

The slide was up to one and a half feet deep in some areas, and almost covered both lanes of traffic.

No reports of injuries have been received.

Motorists are urged to consider alternative routes, as the road may be closed periodically for the next hour or more. Single-lane, alternating traffic is flowing at this time.
