Dog's life at risk: witness

A man is furious after he witnessed a driver on the road put a dog’s life at risk.

Kevin Alexander was driving on Main Street in West Kelowna on Saturday when he spotted a dog struggling to keep its balance on top of a tool box in the back of a moving pickup truck.

“I was extremely angry,” he said. “I'm a huge animal person and seeing someone have such lack of caring for their dog is disgusting.”

Alexander was able to take a photo and sent it to RCMP. He added the dog appeared to be tied to a "foot" long leash.

“He should truly have his dog taken away, he is risking its life and does not care in any way,” he said.

Castanet reached out to RCMP for comment on the incident and are awaiting a response.

“This man needs to wake up and realize his dog's life is at risk and if he does not care then he shouldn't be a pet owner,” Alexander said.
