Swimming for 24 hours

The 24-hour swim relay is here.

The Kelowna AquaJets will be hosting their first swim relay, beginning 4 p.m. Friday at the H2O Aquatic Centre.

Over 300 swimmers are expected to take part in the event, which fundraises for both the KAJ Swim Club and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

Swimmers will be placed in groups of 8 to 20 and will swim in a continuous relay. Each swimmer will take turns diving and and swimming 50 meters.

The goal for the event is $20,000. Funds raised will be used to continue providing the opportunity for children in the community to learn a number of skills offered through the swim club.

In addition, the Kelowna AquaJets will be donating 10 per cent of all money raised to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
