A mother's joy

The mother of Kelowna teen Giselle Roberts, reported missing on Feb. 13 and found on the 16th, has reached out to Castanet to share her joy and gratitude that her daughter is back home safe and sound.

Michelle Roberts says, "I would like to, from the bottom of my heart thank Castanet, the Okanagan community, the Kelowna RCMP, our friends and family in the safe return of my daughter Giselle."

Kelowna RCMP asked for the public's help to locate Giselle when she was reported missing after the long weekend.

Giselle's family were beside themselves with worry about the 16-year-old's health and well-being and contacted police, who in turn contacted Castanet.

Michelle goes on to say, "The care and concern, the outpouring of love was incredible. I cannot express enough how grateful I am and how much it got me through such a difficult time. As a parent, it is the worst nightmare not knowing where your child is and if they are safe. Giselle is home now and safe.  She is very loved and is a loving girl. She now knows she can not solve her problems on her own and we are on the road to ensuring that this never happens again."

Instead of keeping quiet and hoping for the best, Roberts boldly encourages others in the Okanagan to reach out and ask for help if they're facing challenges or hard times.

"I would like to encourage all young adults who are reading this that there is always someone to talk to, please just reach out and ask."
