$5M for tree fruit farmers

B.C.’s tree fruit farmers are about to get a boost from the provincial government in the form of $5 million set aside to give the industry a competitive edge.

Minister of Agriculture Lana Popham announced the Tree Fruit Competitiveness Fund at today’s B.C. Fruit Growers Association 2018 convention in Kelowna.

Open to B.C. growers, producers, processors, the $5 million fund will focus on helping farmers in three key areas: research, marketing, and infrastructure.
