Aqua height OK

Mayor Colin Basran was the lone dissenter as Kelowna city council enthusiastically voted to move forward with a major waterfront complex in the city’s Mission neighbourhood.

Seeking a permit for its Aqua development, Mission Group last night asked for several zoning exceptions, and for the most part, council was happy to grant them.

Conceived as a lakeside residential resort complex, Aqua would house 319 units, spread across three apartment hotel towers, perched atop a four-level podium, flanked by townhomes. It would also house a four-storey boat storage facility.

For more on why Basran said he couldn't support the project, as well as why his council colleagues were more than happy to, check out the full story on Castanet's sister business news website, Okanagan Edge.
