Kelowna author - bestseller
Kelowna author Tyrell Johnson's debut novel has landed on the national bestseller's list.
Johnson's "Wolves of Winter" hit the Globe and Mail and Toronto Star's fiction bestseller's lists last week. The book landed in the No. 4 spot on the Globe's Canadian fiction list and is trending up in the all fiction category.
"We just heard it's an instant national bestseller. That means they sold a lot of books," said Johnson.
He says the success isn't going to his head, but he is looking forward to a whirlwind press tour coming up at the end of the month. Johnson will be in Toronto, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
"Any type of exposure is great. Now we can use the phrase bestseller ... which creates more excitement for the novel."
Johnson says, so far there's no pressure for a follow-up, but he's hopeful the exposure will create enough of a groundswell for a follow effort.
Johnson says he's not signing autographs in the mall just yet, but by the time his book tour is done, he will be one step closer to earning the title "hot new Canadian author" who just happens to call Kelowna home.
