Monster trucks to roar

The monster trucks are coming!

The Traxxas Monster Truck Tour will rev up Kelowna's Prospera Place Jan. 13 and 14.

The 10,000-pound, car-crushing giants will compete in racing, wheelie contests and freestyle action.  

Jan. 13's Saturday show is at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday's is a matinee, at 2 p.m.

Competing teams include:

• ROCK STAR...Leader of the monster truck mafia!
• WHEELIE CRASH...This is one WILD Monster Truck!
• IDENTITY THEFT… WHO can it be!?!
• REVERSE RACER… Which way is he going?!
• POUND HOUND… Going head-to-head with the BIG boys!

There will also be freestyle motocross riders performing daring stunts.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. at the Prospera box office, www.selectyourtickets.com or charge by phone 250-762-5050. Prices are $20, $30 and $45, plus service charges. Kids three to 12 are just $15.

Pit party tickets to meet the drivers and see the trucks up close can be purchased separately for $10. 

You may want to bring ear protection for the kids, as things will get loud.
