ORIGINAL: 12:30 p.m.

A fallen tree has knocked out power for about 1,475 homes in Southeast Kelowna Friday.

The outage occurred at 11:25 a.m., when a tree fell into a power pole and brought down a power line near the Gallagher's Canyon Golf Resort.

Nicole Bogdanovic with FortisBC says they have crews heading to the area to make repairs, and they're working to isolate the impacted section so the power can be restored to some homes quicker.

“The restoration time for any remaining customers is unknown at this time and will depend on the extent of the repairs,” Bogdanovic said.
