Food bank needs your vote

Time is running out to assist the Lake Country Food Bank in its bid to receive funding through the Aviva Community Fund.

People across the valley have until Thursday to vote for the food bank in the competition.

Two years ago, the food bank won the same competition – and a $100,000 cash prize – which went toward construction of a new facility on Bottom Wood Lake Road.

They've turned to the same competition in hopes of expanding their operation to allow for the receipt and distribution of fruits and vegetables that would normally be thrown out by farmers and orchardists.

To vote for the Lake Country Food Bank and see them move on to the next round, click here to go to the Aviva Community Fund web page and register. From there, you will be able to vote up to 18 times.

If you are already registered, but have not yet used you allotment of votes, you can click here to go directly to the Lake Country Food Bank page.

Voting closes at 2 p.m. Thursday.
