Dock-building companies are flocking to the Okanagan as hundreds look to repair
Last spring’s near-record lake levels caused havoc for many Okanagan residents and businesses, but the start of repair efforts in the region has created a booming business opportunity for a lucky few.
The provincial government estimates as many as 1,500 docks were damaged or destroyed as a result of the flooding, and as hundreds look to repair and rebuild, opportunistic dock builders are flocking to the Okanagan.
Some are brand-new companies started specifically to take on jobs in the region, others are established companies that don't usually work here, trying to get in on the action.
